Brother.  Son.  Friend.  Cancer Survivor.

Initially when I decided I wanted to run across Idaho, it was for my own self satisfaction - to see what I could do and could I push myself to the limits in that way.

However, I felt that I needed another purpose to get up every day and keep going.  That is when I learned about The Tenley Foundation - a foundation that helps local Idaho families of children with cancer.  You can learn more about them here: http://www.idahofighters.blogspot.com/.  That is also when I decided to dedicate my run to these families and especially the amazing kids fighting cancer - like the Jons family in this picture.

You see, I am a cancer survivor too.

In April 2005, I was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer at age 33. I had surgery at the Huntsman Cancer Hospital in Salt Lake City and had it removed.  Follow up scans were done on April 22, 2005 and I was told I was cancer free!

With your help and my run, we can make a HUGE difference in the lives of these families!  Stay tuned for more information on how to make a donation...

The photo of you in the hospital bed with your mother by your side brought me to tears. next week is mothers day. Your mothers love grows stronger with each passing day and I know she is beaming down on you with such love, joy. pride and gratitude.
One breath, one moment, one step forward at a time.
